Agreed, the current focus on xbrl is relevant, but pretty much the tail end (wagging the dog). I think the naming of the concept and its aliases (interactive data, standard business reporting) don&#039;t allow organisations to see the full scope yet. What do you think?

It&#039;s not fully realized that XBRL isn&#039;t simply a reporting mechanism for items like cash and inventories, but rather that it can be used for the full range of financial and nonfinancial data key to management and investor decision-making.
